A Study on Formation of a Kanbun Textbook during the Meiji Era : Through analysis of “SENTEI TYUGAKUKANBUN”

This paper discusses formation of a modern Kanbun textbook during the Meiji era, by analyzing “SENTEI TYUGAKUKANBUN”; edited by Kanichiro FUKAI, and his essay on Kanbun education included in “KANBUN KYOJYU HOU” and “WAKANBUN SHITSUGI MONDOU”. The analysis indicates criticized traditional learning methods and textbooks. But he took traditional Kanbun educational materials into “SENTEI TYUGAKUKANBUN” and reconstructed the arrangement of educational materials along a degree of difficulty
